Time Crisis 4 Lights Up the PS3

Jun 13, 2007 1:40pm CST tags: Namco, Time Crisis 4
Namco Bandai's lightgun shooter Time Crisis 4 will be making its way to the PlayStation 3, according to the latest edition of Famitsu. The game will reportedly feature a direct port of the arcade title, dubbed the "AC mode," in addition to a "Mission mode." No further details on either mode of play have been released.

Famitsu also divulged that a lightgun peripheral will be released to stores in conjunction with the game, tentatively titled the Guncon 3. As traditional light-emitting guns do not work with newer LCD televisions, it is assumed that the Guncon 3 will be using a new form of technology, such as the mounted sensor included with the LCD TopGun.

Major changes from the arcade edition of Time Crisis 4 include a hiding system, which puts the player on the defensive. The game features Namco's new System Super 256 graphics board, which allows for higher quality visuals and the display of more enemies on screen at once.

Shacknews has contacted Namco for more details on Time Crisis 4 and the Guncon 3, but has not yet received a reply.
