Fox Interactive Entering 21st Century?
Formed in 1996, Fox Interactive typically published games based on Fox properties such as Die Hard Trilogy, Aliens Versus Predator, and The Simpsons: Hit & Run. Fox also dabbled in a few original titles, including Monolith's No One Lives Forever series, as well as Argonaut Software's Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. The label has been dormant since 2003.
The move is seen as part of a two-pronged approach to the lucrative gaming industry, with News Corporation's MySpace web portal having recently signed Oberon Media to provide titles for its MySpace Games service.
In the realm of video game journalism, News Corp. purchased IGN/GameSpy in 2005, which has since become a division of Fox Interactive Media--not to be confused with Fox Interactive, or Fox International, or Fox Intergalactic Domination.
