Update 3: More comparisons surfaced overnight, revealing that Limbo of the Lost apparently contains background elements of Gray Matter's Return to Castle Wolfenstein, World of Warcraft artwork, and a shocking number of Unreal Tournament 2004 maps. "This is not an old game that has been dressed up," director Steve Bovis once told QuandaryLand. It is also worth noting that developer Majestic was planning a sequel to Limbo of the Lost and was seeking a new background artist for the project.

Given the sheer number of similarities from so many different games, it is extremely unlikely that all of the duplicate assets are a result of a common texture pack, as was the case with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s apparent use of Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 elements.

FiringSquad has a Black And White 2: Battle Of The Gods Q&A up this morning, asking Philip Robinson about this upcoming expansion pack. Among other things, Robinson mentions that the expansion will be available in stores as well as the EA Downloader program.

Over at FileShack you can now grab a Battle of The Gods movie, showing the first footage from the upcoming Black & White 2 expansion pack.

Sup game announcements. Lionhead has announced that it is developing a Black & White 2 expansion pack called Battle of the Gods. Lionhead promises the expansion will feature a "much darker, more sinister game world", and will add a new creature, two new lands, six new challenges and four additional miracles. Enemy AI has also been reworked. Black & White 2: Battle of the Gods will be released by EA some time this year.

Mod tools for Black & White 2 are now available for download. The tool set includes LionheadUnstuffer to extract the everything.stuff file, a landscape editor, a script compiler and script language documentation.

Lionhead has released the Black & White 2 patch, updating the game to v1.1 and fixing several game and balancing issues. The patch unfortunately isn't save-game compatible with the original 1.0 release.

Lionhead's Black & White 2 page has been updated with the news that a patch for the game will be released October 6, a day before the release of the game. The patch will allow you to skip the tutorial and also allows you to switch back to the old control system. Also mentioned is that October 7 is just the US, UK and Irish release date now; the rest of Europe will receive the game October 14 - "Curse our publisher for that one!".
