Command & Conquer 3 developer EA Los Angeles has admitted that it has had a "chronic issue [with product support] for more than four years," and is forming a dedicated support team to try and address the issue.

"I am not as proud of our record in supporting our games after launch. In fact, I'm downright unhappy with that aspect of our business," EALA general manager Mike Verdu wrote on the official C&C site. The admission stemmed from a long-delayed patch for the PC edition of the C&C3 expansion pack Kane's Wrath.

Verdu noted that EALA tends to release a "limited number of patches for our products and in many cases those patches take longer than they should," attributing the issues to "tension between developing new products and supporting our older products."

In the world of Command & Conquer, Kane is a busy man. How does a person like him keep up with all the administrative tasks while trying to take over the world? Well, he could get an evil secretary, but we thought it would be much more fun if Shackers would step forward with their best evil plans instead. Some opted for a simple scheme, some complex. The winners are as follows:

• GuavaD has a breakfast fixation on hashed wickedness.
• fatlazyhomer know flow charts and evil like the back of his malicious hand.

It wasn't an easy choice, but the final nod for grand prize goes to fatlazyhomer, who belies at least part of his name with an expertly executed flow chart. All three of the finalists will receive copies of Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath--which includes Red Alert 3 beta access--with the grand prize winner also collecting the entire C&C catalog, all courtesy of EA.

The first expansion pack for the PC edition of Command & Conquer 3 is in manufacturing and will arrive at retailers on March 26, publisher Electronic Arts has announced.

Developed by EALA, the studio behind Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (PC, X360), Kane's Wrath includes 13 new missions, 6 new sub-factions, and a key to the PC beta for the recently unveiled Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (PC, PS3, X360). Details on the beta are set to arrive in the summer.

An stand-alone Xbox 360 release of the expansion will arrive in the summer, complete with a new radial interface and an exclusive challenge mode.

Six new Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath screenshots have been released, providing another look at the upcoming strategy game expansion pack in development for PC and Xbox 360. All I can say is there is much love for lasers in them.

Electronic Arts has released a few new screenshots and unit renders for its upcoming expansion pack to Command and Conquer 3. Check them out below. Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath is set for a spring 2008 release on PC and Xbox 360.

Over at GameReplays.org you can find a Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath Q&A, asking associate producer Jim Vessella about the strategy game expansion pack.

The live-action cutscenes of the upcoming Command & Conquer 3 expansion pack Kane's Wrath will showcase the acting talents of Natasha Henstridge (pictured left), described on IMDB as "The Chick from Species," and Carl Lumbly, who played Marcus Dixon in Alias, voiced J'onn J'onzz in the Justice League cartoon series, and appeared in one episode of Battlestar Galactica.

The two will be joined on-screen by returning C&C veteran Joe Kucan, who plays Kane, the leader of the Brotherhood of Nod. EA says the trio are the "epicenter" of the expansion's 20-year story, which begins with the rebuilding of the Brotherhood following the Second Tiberium War. Pictures of the three characters accompanied the announcement.

There is no word yet if the other famed actors from Command & Conquer 3--such as Tricia Helfer, Billy Dee Williams, Grace Park, Josh Holloway, and Michael Ironside--will be reprising their roles in the prequel.

Currently under development at EA Los Angeles, the studio responsible for Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars (PC, X360), Kane's Wrath is slated to arrive on PC and Xbox 360 in spring 2008. The expansion will pack six new sub-factions along with new units, structures, and powers, with the console version said to be sporting "a revolutionary new radial interface."

EA is offering Westwood Studios' seminal RTS Command & Conquer Gold as a free download starting today on the Command & Conquer website. The full game download, commemorating the August 31 release of the game 12 years ago, comprises two ISO image files and is also hosted on FileShack for your downloading pleasure.

We've got both ISOs up for download at FileShack. Get the the United Nations' Global Defense Initiative (GDI) disc here and the Brotherhood of Nod disc here. This version of Command & Conquer Gold is Windows XP compatible and identical to the version included in the compilation Command & Conquer: The First Decade. EA has also provided installation instructions for the game.

The announcement on EA's Command & Conquer Web site promises further goodies every week during the month of September.

There's a Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath first look on IGN, offering an overview of new features and content found in this expansion pack.

GameSpot is the first out the gate with a Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath Q&A. Executive producer Mike Verdu is asked about the new features and content found in the expansion pack.

A Command & Conquer-themed online show will debut at the game's Web site Monday night, EA announced today. Dubbed BattleCast PrimeTime, the show will be the first in a series of sportcast-emulating Command & Conquer programming.

"Sports fans have a home. Even cooking fans have a home. And now Command & Conquer fans have a place called home," a trailer for the show states, giving hope to all those with identities defined by the PC real-time strategy series.

BattleCast PrimeTime will purportedly feature "epic" multiplayer matches and analysis of the battles by developers from EA LA, designers of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Watchers can also expect to see interviews with C&C devs, C&C news updates, and appearances by C&C celebrities like actor Joe Kucan.

The show's first episode will air Monday night at 12:01 a.m. at www.commandandconquer.com, and announcements concerning future programming will follow at a later date, according to EA.
