Okay, I'm not sure if there's any cockroach killing to be had in Red Fly's Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars (Wii). but there's definitely a cockroach in these new screenshots.

After sitting through 24 Redemption for two hours on Sunday, I now associate the household pest with Jack Bauer due to the constant repetition of "kill the cockroach." A little random, yes, but at least the headline makes sense now. Right?

Mushroom Men and its platforming fungi arrive on Wii and Nintendo DS next week.

Commercialism and art clashed to form the Pop Art movement of the 1950s. They've also produced a pair of trailers for Red Eye's Mushroom Men series. One TV spot and one art trailer combine forces to sell Rise of the Fungi (Wii) and The Spore Wars (DS).

Gamecock is publishing both games, which will land on their respective systems on December 2.

Publisher Gamecock has delayed the release of Red Fly's fungi-tastic Wii and DS platformer Mushroom Men from November 11 to December 2. No reason was given for the delay. On the other hand, new screenshots of the Wii edition were provided.

Along with the new screenshots, the company sent over a lengthy essay from GL33k audio director Matt Piersall, in which Piersall examines the methodology behind game's BPM-based world and expresses his like of pancakes.

The newly-acquired publisher Gamecock has released a new batch of screenshots for Red Fly's Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars (Wii), a 3D platformer featuring fungal protagonists. This time, there's a not-so-hidden reference to famed Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto.

Releasing on November 11, The Spore Wars will be accompanied by a DS prequel, Mushroom Men: Rise of the Fungi, which also has new screenshots.

Update: The 'Miyamoto' shown in the screenshot is in fact not in reference to Shigeru Miyamoto but rather legendary Japanese warrior Miyamoto Musashi. Thanks to AxeMan808 for the tip.

Publisher Gamecock Media Group has passed in new screenshots from Red Fly Media's Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars (Wii) and its handheld prequel Mushroom Men: Rise of the Fungi (NDS).

In addition to the new screenshots, a new video detailing the 3D platformer's sound direction was also provided. Both the Wii and Nintendo DS editions are scheduled to arrive this fall.
