Super Street Fighter 2 HD Pricing Revealed

Capcom's John Dianomon has revealed the price Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix: $14.99 for the PlayStation 3 edition.

The price is expected to be the same on the Xbox 360, at 1200 Microsoft Points ($15).

Writing on Sony's official PlayStation Blog, Dianomon added that a "remix soundtrack" will hit the PlayStation Network as a free download, featuring the sounds of hip-hop artists Redman, Hieroglyphics, DJ Qbert, DJ Toure, Zion I, Mistah F.A.B. and Oh No.

Developed by Backbone, the downloadable fighting revival hits the PS3 on Tuesday, November 25 and the Xbox 360 the next day.

Super Street Fighter 2 HD Hits PS3 Tuesday

Backbone's Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will hit PlayStation 3 next Tuesday, November 25, and Xbox 360 next Wednesday, November 26, Capcom confirmed today.

Capcom inadvertently revealed the Xbox 360 date yesterday, leaving gamers wondering when the PlayStation 3 version would arrive. Though the PlayStation Store usually updates on Thursdays, next week's update comes early due to Thanksgiving.

The publisher has yet to specify a price point for the downloadable fighter.

In addition, Capcom declared a "Season of Street Fighter" that will see Street Fighter-branded content hit other games, such as Pinball FX and UNO on Xbox 360, with a "little" PlayStation 3 surprise said to arrive later in the holiday season.

Backbone Entertainment's long, long-awaited Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will arrive as an Xbox Live Arcade download come Wednesday, November 26, according to a newly released screenshot from publisher Capcom.

The image, left, details the SSF2THDR "branded destination experience" that debuts as part of the New Xbox Experience tomorrow. According to Capcom, it's "a central place for Xbox Live Arcade gamers to learn about new content, view the latest trailers, and access downloadable content [for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix]."

Capcom had previously promised that the downloadable fighter would arrive within November, implying that the PlayStation 3 release should arrive when the PlayStation Store updates on the following Thursday, November 27.

A price point for SSF2THDR has yet to be announced.

Street Fighter 2 Table Coming to Pinball FX

Capcom and developer Zen Studios have partnered to bring a Street Fighter II-themed pinball table into Zen's downloadable Xbox Live Arcade game Pinball FX.

Meant to promote the November arrival of Capcom's downloadable Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the Street Fighter II board will hit Pinball FX as downloadable contentcome November 12.

No pricing was disclosed, but Capcom issued the following bullet points:

Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Coming This Month, More Screenshots Released

After a few delays, Capcom announced today that the long-awaited HD reimagining of Super Street Fighter II Turbo will arrive in PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 form during the month of November, though a specific date for the downloadable fighter was not given.

"HD Remix is coming to your console this November," Capcom wrote in an e-mail to the gaming press. "Exact date TBD. Trust us, it's coming."

In celebration, the company issued a number of new screenshots from Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, along with more pink-backed artwork of it characters.

The beta for Backbone Entertainment's Super Street Fighter II HD Remix (PS3, 360) has been extended to September 5th, publisher Capcom revealed on its official blog.

Originally slated to operate until mid-August, the Xbox 360-exclusive beta formally kicked off on June 25 and was made available to those Xbox 360 owners who purchased Backbone's Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3.

The extension is likely aimed at testing a new patch for the fighter revamp, which Capcom says will arrive "in the coming weeks." The patch incorporates a new netcode which minimizes lag while playing the game online, as well as a number of general gameplay tweaks.

Publisher Capcom announced today that the beta release of its upcoming classic fighter overhaul Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will be made available to Xbox 360 users on June 25.

Access to the downloadable Xbox 360-exclusive beta will be granted to all who purchase Backbone Entertainment's Commando 3 from the Xbox Live Marketplace. The beta allows gamers to test the title in online play as either Ken or Ryu on a single stage.

Developed by Backbone Entertainment, the full version of SSF2HDR will be sold at an unknown price through the online storefronts of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this summer.

Along with an arcade-perfect HD reimagining of Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Capcom's XBLA-bound Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will sport a rebalanced mode that addresses many of the complaints casual and hardcore players have expressed with the game.

Explaining the tweaks at the official Capcom blog, design and gameplay consultant David Sirlin writes that he wanted to make the game easier to play, more balanced for tournament play, and more fun.

Changes include simplified special moves, said to make the game easier to control on a gamepad. For example, certain moves that previously required players to press three buttons simultaneously can now be performed with two buttons. Other tweaks involve more forgiving timing and the removal of many up and diagonal motions, which could occasionally result in unintended jumps.
