Providing the soundtrack are electro-shock-rockers Mindless Self Indulgence, whose level of awesome far exceeds even that of the tasteful automotive pornography on view.

In honor of next week's release of the second entry in the Penny Arcade Adventures series, developer and publisher Hothead has released three new trailers showing off some gameplay and cinematics from the RPG.

At 1200 Microsoft Points ($15), On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode 2 lands on Xbox Live on Wednesday, October 29 alongside PC, Mac and Linux versions on the Greenhouse digital distribution service. A PlayStation 3 version will follow later this year.

Shanghai-based game designer American McGee has tired of transoceanic flights and instead has taken to the internet to pitch his latest concept to the West: BaiJiu Racer, an Unreal Engine 3-powered "MMO-lite racing game concept with China as the core theme."

"It's the first Chinese cart racing game developed with an authentic and original Chinese art style, set in real-world locations, and featuring some of the funkiest racing vehicle designs the world has ever seen," wrote McGee on his own blog. It also promises "strong narrative backbone and emotional drama" as part of the MMO-esque experience.

"We've crafted a solid Game Design Document, Technical Design Document, Art Bible, Visual Target Demo, and Development Plan," explained McGee, which in essence means the game is completely designed--on paper. The racer has a publisher in China but McGee is going public to find a publisher for the rest of the world.

McGee released a set of concept art and a trailer showing the game's art style and gameplay in an early state. Also revealed by the concept art is a plastic surgery feature in which characters become more attractive over time.

Max Payne developer Remedy Entertainment has issued a new trailer and screenshots from its psychological action-adventure effort Alan Wake (PC, 360).

The studio has yet to say when the project will be released, though it was first unveiled in 2005. Upon its eventual arrival, Microsoft will publish.

"We're working hard on Alan Wake and want to make sure it meets and exceeds the awesome potential," Remedy managing director Matias Myllyrinne noted today. "It's still time to focus and we won't be doing constant updates on the progress."

"Naturally, we'll be happy to share and show more about Alan Wake when we have the next live showing of the game," added Myllyrinne.

Following this week's launch of the Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer beta on Xbox 360, publisher Activision has released a new trailer detailing the multiplayer component of the first-person World War II shooting game.

Developed by Treyarch, Call of Duty: World at War hits PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS on November 11, with series creator Infinity Ward returning to the franchise via next year's release of Call of Duty 6.

Tucked away within the PlayStation 3 edition of BioShock is a short teaser for the impending sequel, dubbed BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams, and an off-screen video of the footage has now appeared prior to the PS3 version's October 21 launch.

Developer 2K Marin has yet to confirm platforms for the sequel, though BioShock 2 is expected to hit the same platforms as the original--PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360--when it arrives between August and October of 2009.
