Unreality.dk is the latest website to carry some Q&A with Mark Rein who says that Friday or this weekend are most likely for the UT2K3 demo release. The chance for a demo release today is "low".

Well, it seems that Epic is finally confident enough in the UT2003 demo to release it in the next few days. According to this post (thanks H-52) by Mark Rein we can expect the demo "in the next few days":

The demo is nearly ready to go. It should be out sometime within the next few days. Keep watching this space (the stickies) for an announcement. When it's ready we'll just be releasing it randomly to a few major sites so that hopefully it will spread like wildfire and everyone will be able to get it from their favorite games site. There won't be any special exclusives or anything like that. We want everyone to be enjoying it the minute it goes live. More details to follow, keep watching this space.

update: A follow-up post to clarify things.. or well, to make it less clear I guess kinda:

I'm expecting the demo to be out sooner than 5 days but things have a way of cropping up and biting us in the ass so you never know. It could be as early as tomorrow or as late as the weekend but I'm pretty confident that it's this week.

German game site PC Games has posted a new Unreal Tournament 2003 movie showing seven minutes of footage from the game. Thanks jd.

Hey about that, another Unreal Tournament 2003 demo update. CliffyB with the post about the maps and gamemodes that will be included. Though, "We could be more than 2 weeks away still".

GameSpot has taken a look at the most recent version of Unreal Tournament 2003 which is being shown at ECTS. They offer impressions on the look of the game, the current mutators (all 11 of them), and the "fast and furious" gameplay.

A fourth Unreal Tournament 2003 IRC chat log is up, offering more Q&As with Epic's Mark Rein who was anwering questions out of England (where he is to demonstrate UT2003 at ECTS). They ask him about the performance we can expect using a system similar to the specs they released yesterday, of course the demo is also mentioned, the fact that the CPL will need this game done early October for use during their Winter championships and a whole lot more.

WorthPlaying has word that Unreal Tournament 2003 will be shipping with Maya Personal Learning Edition. An included plugin will allow people to export objects they create in the modeling program to the game.

No demo, but here are the system requirements for Unreal Tournament 2003. If anything, the full game will be pretty big weighing in at 3GB.

Atari sent word of this chat log on the official Unreal Tournament 2003 site, recapping a recent IRC chat. Mark Rein from Epic and Kyle Peschel and Richard Iggo of Infogrames attended and answered questions about the game.

GameSpy has posted a new Unreal Tournament 2003 preview, taking a look at the upcoming multiplayer shooter from Epic and Digital Extremes. The preview is filled with quotes from Digital Extremes' James Schmalz, though no new screenshots are included.

The original video was almost the size of a post stamp, but it does show about a minute of footage from the game and we managed to get a hold of a higher res video shortly afterwards. There is a pretty lenghty Unreal Tournament 2003 Q&A, with Pancho Eekels of Digital Extremes and Epic's CliffyB on hand to answer questions about this multiplayer shooter sequel. There are questions about the contents of the demo, the addition of special moves, system requirements, what they've been working on since E3, why Epic decided to take over development, graphic improvements and much more. Nvidia's Game Page has been updated, offering some info on Unreal Tournament 2003 and Elite Force 2. The Unreal Tournament 2003 page has five new screenshots from the upcoming multiplayer shooter.

Planet Unreal has two screenshots from the Unreal Tournament 2003 version of the Facing World map which shipped with the original Unreal Tournament. Looks great. We need an updated DM-Morpheus though!

Mark Rein from Epic has made a post to the Infogrames forums with word on what's up with that UT2003 demo that so many of us thought was just around the corner. Well it looks like it's 'more than two weeks away' still. bummer.

[snip] I know this might be disappointing to many of you eagerly waiting for the demo but as soon as we think we're 5-7 days away I'll let you know. I thought we'd be done with the demo by now but I underestimated. My apologies for that.
